Family Lawyer in cases with criminal charges or allegations
Throughout my years of practice, I have witnessed many times the devastation that a criminal charge can cause within a family and, in particular, upon a marriage. This can happen in a variety of situations. Sometimes, a criminal charge is used by one spouse against another to gain an advantage in the family law courts. In other situations, the criminal charge does not arise as a result of a dispute between the two spouses. Rather, one spouse is charged in relation to some event not between the spouses. However, the enduring nature of the criminal justice process, the type of charges, and the ultimate consequences can lead to a breakdown in the marriage.
I have seen this pattern play out time and again. While my client may ultimately “win” in criminal court, he or she is left with a broken marriage and not sure what to do. It is for this reason that I have taken to combine my knowledge, experience and legal skills to assist those in need of a family lawyer.
I serve clients in Toronto and the GTA and am experienced in all levels of court in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Appeal.
My twenty years of experience as a litigator, and in particular as a defence lawyer in criminal matters, is especially helpful to family law clients who find themselves dealing with both courts – family and criminal.
My philosophy in representing my clients is simple: I take on difficult cases to assist client’s who are in need of an experienced litigation lawyer.
